Kubernetes & Helm tools

A cluster problem is usually a manifest problem: a Service that never reaches its Pods, an Ingress path that 404s, a Role that grants less than the ServiceAccount actually needs, or a resource request that's guessed rather than calculated. These tools work through that chain from the YAML outward, checking manifests against the Kubernetes schema, tracing how RBAC bindings resolve to permissions, and following an Ingress path through a Service to its targetPort.

Pick the tool that matches where the trail runs cold. If traffic isn't reaching a Pod, the Service / Ingress routing tester follows the path through Service ports to the targetPort; if a Pod can't do something it should, the Kubernetes RBAC viewer traces role bindings back to granted permissions. The Helm Values Diff shows what your overrides actually change against chart defaults, and the Kubernetes YAML generator produces starting Deployment, Service, Ingress and probe fragments rather than making you write boilerplate by hand.

Kubernetes & Helm tools FAQ

Why does a Kubernetes Service not route traffic to my Pods?

Almost always a label selector mismatch, or a Service port pointing at the wrong targetPort on the container. The Service / Ingress routing tester traces the path from Ingress rule through Service port to targetPort, and the Kubernetes label selector checks a selector against real Pod labels with match reasons.

How do I know what permissions a ServiceAccount actually has?

RBAC in Kubernetes is indirect: a RoleBinding or ClusterRoleBinding points at a Role or ClusterRole, and the Role lists the actual verbs and resources. The Kubernetes RBAC viewer traces that chain and lists the resulting granted permissions instead of you reading three objects by hand.

What does a Helm values override actually change?

A values.yaml file only overrides the keys it sets; everything else falls back to the chart's own defaults, which is easy to lose track of. Helm Values Diff shows the effective result of your overrides against the chart defaults so you can see exactly what changed before you install or upgrade.
